Chris Christie (born 6 September 1962) is an American Republican Party politician and attorney who has been the 55th Governor of New Jersey since January 2010. His term ends 16 January 2018.

In November 2016, President-elect Donald Trump appointed Governor Christie to lead his transition team to ensure a smooth transfer of power on 20 January 2017 from the Barack Obama administration.

Chris Christie is likely to be appointed US Secretary of Commerce in the Trump administration.[1]
