Christopher Alexander is an American marketing and communications executive based in Baltimore, Maryland. He is the Chief Analytics Officer,[1] Chief Marketing Officer, and Chief Communications Officer for Pioneer Development Group,[2] and former Chief Marketing Officer for The Wellness Company.[3]
History
Alexander joined the United States Army in November 1994. After rapid promotion in a combat arms specialty, he was accepted into the first-ever Army Information Operations unit. His unit "encompassed covert influence, public relations, and cyber warfare capabilities." While in the Army, Alexander "acquired extensive training in various areas, including weapons, explosives, intelligence collection and analysis, principles of camouflage and concealment, lethal and non-lethal targeting, Arctic survival, Middle Eastern culture, and Russian propaganda techniques."
In 1998, Alexander completed training in Bjervik, Norway in arctic survival, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and principles of concealment. He studied sociology and anthropology at Washington State University from 1999-2006, with a focus on "Iraqi tribes, Arab gender issues and perceptions of time and color." He was part of the Alpha Phi Omega society.[4]
In 2003, Alexander received a Foreign Language and Area Studies award from the United States Department of State to study cultural anthropology and the Baltic states at the University of Washington. He received permission from the Army to attend the program and apply the lessons learned to information operations, including understanding "Baltic resistance to Soviet propaganda and counter-insurgency tactics" and the Lithuanian language.
Alexander co-authored "The Iraq Insurgency Movement" with Charles Kyle and William McCallister, published on November 14, 2003.[5] According to Alexander, the piece "was recognized as a runner-up by the Atlantic Council as one of the most important pieces of analysis written during the war in Iraq." He was deployed for combat to Iraq following orientation at the Joint Special Operations University, and provided support for operations in Thailand, Afghanistan, Mongolia, and the Philippines. He also served as a special advisor to the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force in Hokkaido. He contributed to the Washington Military Department's Public Affairs Office staff, writing press releases and coordinating media coverage.
Because of his reconnaissance background, Alexander was selected by his Information Engagement unit to attend the Joint Targeting School in 2005. He "was there to focus on measuring the effectiveness of non-lethal operations like Civil Affairs or MISO activities."
From January 2005 to December 2012, Alexander worked at Strategic Social as Director of the Research and Innovation Group, where he "led insight and influence efforts across multiple countries in support of the Global War on Terrorism." He contributed to securing "over 300 million dollars in contracts for Information Operations, PSYOP, and intelligence support."
From August 2012 to July 2013, Alexander worked as Director of Communication and Analysis at SIC Group, "a start-up company that collaborated with US Government and Middle Eastern clients, including one of the ruling families of Kurdistan." He "won a contract and supported the Office of Counter Terrorism for the Kingdom of Morocco as well as Exercise Africa Lion."
From July 2013 to January 2020, Alexander worked as Incremental CMO and an Internal Communications Consultant for Pigment Communications. His "key clients" included Etihad Airways, Coca-Cola, Audi, Disney, Myanmar Airways International, Air KBZ, Kanbawza Bank, the United States Army and the Army National Guard.
He then worked as Director of Strategic Communications for Cook & Schmid from December 2015 to November 2018. He served as Project Manager and Senior Strategist for a high-profile United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) campaign. Additional "key clients" included the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Kratos Defense, Kaiser Permanente, the City of Beverly Hills, City of San Diego and City of Santa Monica.

COVID-19
Alexander began working for Pioneer Development Group in January 2022 where he "successfully rebranded the Liberty Blockchain" project. He worked as Chief Marketing Officer for The Wellness Company briefly in 2023.
On August 30, 2023, Alexander appeared on Fox Business to discuss Grayscale Investments' win against the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) related to the potential approval of a Bitcoin ETF.
