DescriptionPreventative measure to mitigate climate change?

Climate lockdowns will strip you of "freedoms and everyday liberties".[1]

They are undermined by "misinformation promoted by climate change deniers".

History

In February 2022, an article in The Hill mentioned the phrase "climate lockdown", referencing the widespread COVID-19/Lockdown.[2]

Oxford

Oxfordshire County Council voted for climate lockdown trial in Oxford City starting 2024, with movement by car between the zones restricted to 100 trips per yea [3]

The city will be divided into six "15 minute" neighbourhoods via traffic filtering, and a county council travel chief has insisted the controversial plan would go ahead whether people liked it or not.[4]

The Oxford Mail attacked "conspirationists".[5] The AFP called it a "county council approved traffic scheme", not a "climate lockdown trial", as online misinformation has circulated.[6]
