Arthur E. Rowse is a US journalist who wrote an article about Gladio in Italy.[1][2]
Career
During World War 2, Rowse served as a statistician for the Food Subcommittee of the Allied Military Government at its headquarters in Naples and Rome 1943-1945.[3]
After World War 2 Rowse took up a career in journalism, later working included Boston Globe, The Washington Post and U.S. News and World Report.[4]
As a lifelong journalist, he later became interested in the little known role of the OSS and later CIA in Italian politics for many years after the war. This interest resulted in a magazine article about the largely secret and very disruptive U.S. struggle against Italian communists for several decades after the war. This secret Gladio program was finally acknowledged publicly in 1990 by former Prime Minister Giulio Andreotti, who played a key role in the program and was later put on trial for alleged ties to the Italian mafia.[3]
