The United Nations Population Fund (officially the United Nations Fund for Population Activities, or UNFPA) is a UN organization created to advance population control, birth control, sterilization, and abortion access in developing countries.[1]
Overview
The UNFPA supports programs in more than 144 countries across four geographic regions: Arab States and Europe, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, and sub-Saharan Africa.
UNFPA works with governments, partners and other UN agencies to directly work on Agenda 2030 – in particular Goal 3 on health, Goal 4 on education and Goal 5 on gender equality – and contributes in a variety of ways to achieving many of the other goals.[2]
