Maria Clara Ferreira Alvesis a Portuguese journalist and writer. She is a member of the CIA-close German Marshall Fund. She attended the 2011 Bilderberg meeting.

Career

She took a Degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra, but abandoned her legal internship to become a journalist.

She started in the newsroom of A Tarde. She then went to Correio da Manhã and Jornal de Letras.[1]

Later, she was the main editor, editor and literary critic at Expresso. She became notable as a columnist in the magazine Única, where she has written a column for over 20 years.[2]

She was also a columnist for Máxima magazine, the online newspaper Diário Digital and TSF radio.

She was a war reporter in the Gulf during the 2003 invasion of Iraq.[3]

Between 2000 and 2004 she was director of Casa Fernando Pessoa.

In 2004 she publicly refused the post of director of the Diário de Notícias.

She was a member of the Board of Directors of Centro Cultural de Belém.

On television, she participated many programs. She is a commentator on the political opinion program O Eixo do Mal, on SIC Notícias.
