Dr. Peter Harris Tibber is a UK diplomat who was the British ambassador to Sudan from 2011 to 2015 and the British ambassador to Colombia from 2015 to 2019.

Early life
Tibber was born on 7 September 1956. He is the son of Anthony Harris Tibber, a circuit judge.[1]
Education
He was educated at Haberdashers’ Aske’s School, a private school in Elstree, Hertfordshire.[1] Tibber attended University College, Oxford and graduated with a degree in history in 1976.[2]
Career
"Dr Tibber was appointed British Ambassador to Colombia in September 2015. He joined the FCO in 1984 after completing a doctorate in medieval history at Oxford University. Dr Tibber has been posted to France, Turkey, Mexico, Germany and Pakistan. He was a member of the Senior Management Team of UK Trade & Investment. He was the Ambassador to Sudan August 2011 to August 2015."
