Thomas H. Karamessines was the CIA CIA/Deputy Director for Plans from 31 July 1967 until 27 February 1973[1] when he resigned to protest the sacking of Richard Helms. He died in 1978, officially of a "heart attack", before he could testify to the HSCA.

Career

He worked as a deputy assistant attorney general, under Thomas Dewey.[2]

Death

"Thomas Karamessines was expected to be questioned by the House Select Committee on Assassinations. However, he died of an apparent heart attack on 4th September, 1978, at his vacation home in Grand Lake, Quebec, before he could give evidence before the HSCA."[3]
