Roh Moo-hyun was a Korean politician. He died suddenly while being investigated for corruption. It was ruled a suicide.

Activities

Roh has been under investigation for alleged bribery involving his family members and long-time supporter Park Yeon-cha, the CEO of shoemaking firm Taekwang.

However, the Ministry of Justice and the prosecution have now declared an end to the investigation. Justice Minister Kim Kyung-han said, ``The ongoing investigation will be brought to a halt following his death.

Roh's elder brother,Geon-pyeong, who is serving a prison term for a separate bribery case, was temporarily released to attend the funeral.

The former head of state was suspected of taking at least $6.4 million in bribes from Park during his presidency, dealing a devastating blow to the man who earned fame as a "clean" politician.[1]

Death

On the morning of 23 May 2009, Roh Moo-Hyun was found seriously injured at the base of a 45m cliff known as Bueong'i Bawi behind his rural home in his home village of Bongha. He was sent by car to Seyoung hospital nearby at 7:20 am and moved to Busan University Hospital at around 8:15 am (and pronounced dead at around 9:30 am (00:30 GMT).[2] It was ruled a suicide.[3]
