Wolfgang Schürer was chairman or MS Management Service AG. In 1970, as a student, he co-founded the annual St. Gallen Symposium. Since then, he engaged in various international conferences, e.g. the Wolfsberg Conference (1979-1983). In 1981, he organised the Bilderberg Conference in Buergenstock. He also attended 3 Bilderberg meetings in the 1990s.

Wolfgang Schürer obtained his M.B.A. at the University of St. Gallen in 1970/1971. [1][2]

Career

"In 1969, he set up the International Students` Committee (ISC) which annually organizes the International Management Symposia at the University of St. Gallen. Under his leadership, the Symposia have evolved into a forum of international reputation. In 1973, Mr. Schuerer founded his own consulting company, MS Management Service AG, of which he serves as Chairman. Currently, he also participates on the Advisory Boards of several corporations, academic institution and foundations, among them his chairmanship of the “Foundation Lindau Nobelprizewinners Meetings at Lake Constance”. From 2001 to 2009, he served as a distinguished professor in the practice of International Business Diplomacy, at Georgetown University, School of Foreign Service, Washington D.C. The University of St. Gallen awarded him an Honorary Doctorate in 1999 and from 2005 to 2010 he served as a permanent visiting Professor for Public Affairs."[1]

For 20 years, he served as a member and special representative on the Hague Academy of International Law.[2]

In 2024, the St. Gallen Symposium arranged a "high-level panel, co-organised with the Club of Rome at [{Davos]] on "sustainable development".[3]
