Professor Tomonori "Tom" Yoshizaki was "vice president for academic affairs of the National Institute for Defence Studies (NIDS) of Japan"[1] and "a renowned expert in the areas of alliance management, European security and NATO, Japan’s peace operations, conflict resolution, and peace building."[2]
