Deep state fixer?
This is not currently on the list of deep state operatives (to which I've just added deep state cover-up artist). This is not yet a very widely used phrase, and I'm not yet clear on exactly what we want to designate by it. Possibly a list might help. Who else might qualify? -- Robin (talk) 14:05, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
- Just trying out a term to see if it would stick - a hands-on problem solver active in a surprisingly wide number of fields, half gangster, half commission member. DSO will probably cover it.

DSO is a generic phrase, that is so widely used because of the difficulty of pinning people down, and also because of the lack of alternative labels. So if we could derive some more, that might help. Fixer as in "problem-solver" seems like a plausible role for DSOs to specialise in, even if it's a possibly more wide ranging role than, say, deep state cover-up artist which more or less implies legal expertise and qualifications for managing "inquiries".
