Stuart Campbell (born 27 October 1967) is a video game designer, pro-Scottish independence blogger and former video game journalist. Born in Stirling, Scotland, he moved to Bath, Somerset, in 1991 to work for computer magazine Amiga Power as a staff writer, where he gained attention for his video game reviews. He has lived in Bath ever since, and made further contributions to a number of publications both within the video game industry and in the popular media.[1]
A long-term supporter of Scottish independence, Stuart Campbell launched the political blog Wings Over Scotland in November 2011.[2]
In May 2021, pro-independence blogger Stuart Campbell announced his Wings Over Scotland blog was “over”, although he added he will take a “finally-final” decision on the blog’s future in November 2021, the tenth anniversary of its founding. Campbell said it had become “blindingly obvious” there will be no independence referendum in this parliament, and said “five miserable years of déjà vu” lie ahead, despite the pro-independence majority at Holyrood.[3]
