British doctor who aggressively pushed Covid jabs on kids |
Professor Peter John Morland Openshaw is a British clinician and scientist specialising in lung immunology. Openshaw has been a member of scientific advisory boards for GSK, Moderna, Janssen, Pfizer, Sanofi and AstraZeneca. He is frequently seen in corporate media pushing the Covid jab.
Activities
He trained in lung diseases and undertook a PhD in immunology before establishing a laboratory at St Mary's Hospital Medical School (later part of Imperial College London). He created the academic department of Respiratory Medicine and the Centre for Respiratory Infection at Imperial College and was elected President of the British Society for Immunology in 2014.
Openshaw is a member of the New and Emerging Respiratory Virus Threats Advisory Group (NERVTAG) in the UK.[1]
Peter Openshaw has aggressively promoted jabbing of kids. In June 2021, Openshaw revealed that 'on balance' he has come to the view children need to be jabbed against Covid. Openshaw said because "children are now spreading the Delta variant" in schools the case for vaccination is stronger.[2]
In December 2023, Openshaw said the reason that many "people having nasty bouts of Covid, who are otherwise young and fit" was "due to the fact that for many people it will have been a long time since they last caught the virus or were vaccinated against it. The thing that made the huge difference before was the very wide and fast rollout of vaccines - even young adults managed to get vaccinated, and that made an absolutely huge difference."[3]
Conflict of interests
Peter Openshaw has been a member of scientific advisory boards for GSK, Moderna, Janssen, Seqirus, Pfizer, Sanofi, AstraZeneca and Icosavax.[4] "Prof Peter Openshaw's research is funded by the Wellcome Trust, the MRC, BBSRC and the European Union."[5]
