Libya was to hold its first presidential election in 2021. It was considered to be necessary but "high risk".[1] The election was indefinitely postponed by the Parliament on 22 December 2021.
Candidates
- Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, son of Colonel Gaddafi[2]
- Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba, incumbent Prime Minister of Libya
- Khalifa Haftar, warlord and commander of the Libyan National Army[3]
