Jack Conte is an American businessman and founder of Patreon. He prefers to promote an image of himself as a musician, which he was before he started the company.[1]
On May 7, 2013, Conte announced the launch of Patreon, a crowdfunding venture that lets content creators turn their fans into paying subscribers, together with co-founder Samuel Yam [2] By 2021, the company was valued at $4 billion, despite still not being profitable[3] By then, Patreon had started freezing donations to independent media going through the company.
The World Economic Forum picked him as a Young Global Leader in 2020.
