Notable for effectively disproving the "shoot-down by a rebel-operated Buk SAM" claim. It does so by analysing known and claimed 'Buk' positions, the plane track/speed and the technical characteristics of the Buk missile system. It demonstrates that Ukrainian army 'Buk' installations were positioned such that they COULD have been responsible but does not address aircraft damage photographs and other evidence indicating that a 'Buk' shootdown is unlikely and that it may have been brought down by an A2A missile, cannon-fire from a fighter plane or a combination of the two.
