David Maxim Triesman, Baron Triesman (born 30 October 1943) is a British politician, merchant banker and former trade union leader. David Triesman was General Secretary of the Labour Party from July 2001 to December 2003.[1]
Lord Triesman is a Crossbench member of the House of Lords. Until resigning the whip in July 2019, Triesman sat as a Labour Party peer, having previously been a Minister in the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills and Foreign and Commonwealth Office.[2]
Lord Triesman was Chairman of the Football Association from 2008 to 2010, when he resigned over bribery claims.[3]
