Canada and Albania has had diplomatic relations since 1987. The Canada and Albania relationship centres on modest Canadian commercial investment in Albania and their partnership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Canada supports Albania’s full integration in European bodies.
Canada’s bilateral merchandise trade with Albania is relatively limited, totalling $51.6 million in 2018. Canadian merchandise exports to Albania in 2018 were valued at $39.3 million and consisted mainly of machinery, vehicles, fish and seafood, meat, transport equipment and iron and steel products. Canadian imports from Albania were valued at $12.3 million in 2018 and mainly included footwear, iron and steel, and apparel.[1]
