Covid
In March 2020, Brazil's army chief Edson Leal Pujol said the coronavirus response effort was “probably the greatest mission of this generation..".The members of the health system are our fighters on the front line," in the message in which he exclusively cites the Ministry of Defense as his highest authority and does not mention [[President Bolsonaro] at any time.[1]
In July 2020, when "General Eduardo Pazuello took over the Ministry of Health after two ministers exited amid a worsening of the crisis in Brazil, at least 25 members of the military have been appointed, most with no public health experience. Many criticize the government for pushing technical knowledge aside by appointing military personnel."[2]
