Description | A murderous attack on the Italian public, carried out by the MI6/CIA led Operation Gladio, blamed on communists, as part of a wider program to prevent their electoral success in Italy. |

Legal cases
In 1988, 13 people were convicted of involvement in the bombing, only to be cleared at a first appeal two years later.[1]
Retrial
In 1993 the Italian Supreme Court annulled the decision of the appeal court and ordered a new trial.[1]
