Dr. Angelika Elisabeth Charlotte Volle was a Research Fellow of the German Council on Foreign Relations when she attended the 1986 Bilderberg.[1] She was also Secretary General and Treasurer of the German Group of the Trilateral Commission.

Background

Volle was born in 1949 as the daughter of Hermann Volle, who had founded the Europa-Archiv together with Wilhelm Cornides and was its editor-in-chief from 1949 to 1986.[2][3]

Education

After graduating from high school in Bad Godesberg, she studied political science, history, English and Russian at the University of Bonn and the University of Munich. In 1976 she studied with Hans-Adolf Jacobsen at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Bonn with a dissertation on German-British relations. An examination of the bilateral relationship at the state and non-state level since the Second World War.[4]

Career

She then worked as a research assistant at the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London. From 1978 to 1989 she was a consultant at the Liaison Office of the European Community in Bonn. From 1979 to 1996 she was Secretary General and Treasurer of the German Group of the Trilateral Commission. From 1986 to 1989 she also held a teaching position in the field of European politics and economics at the University of Cologne.

She worked for the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) for more than 25 years, and from 1993 to 2003 she was editor-in-chief of the journal Europa-Archiv (International Politics from 1995).[5][6]
