The 2001 Indian Parliament attack, a purported "suicide bombing" by "Islamic extremists" was an attack that greatly increased tensions between India and Pakistan.
Event
Gunmen stormed the building and killed police officers and parliamentary personnel.
Response
The two perpetrators were sentenced to death for their crimes.
