On 17 November 2020, Imran Ahmed was interviewed about that day's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing with Jack Dorsey and Mark Zuckerberg:

"This election was the last chance saloon for the social media companies which have failed to deal with misinformation on their platforms.[2]

After the Buffalo shooting, he wrote an article in The Guardian entitled "Buffalo might never have happened if online hate had been tackled after Christchurch".[3]
