Dr. Alastair Carmichael MacWillson[1] is a British cyber security professional. MacWillson is chair of the Institute of Information Security Professionals,[2][3] and of Qufaro,[4][5][6] and a founding director of Cambridge Analytica.[1]

Career

MacWillson spent 16 years in the UK Diplomatic Service, working on technical and political risk analysis in the former USSR, the Middle East and the United States.[7]

MacWillson is one of only three or four Brits at the Chertoff Group.[8][9]

MacWillson's Cambridge Analytica, a "cyber security" firm, provides expert advice on highly technical security measures. Looking at what is in the public domain (mostly from statements given to US, UK or EU agencies) they (or MacWillson) have worked on projects for the World Bank, tracking missing $millions of aid from the Balkans war, worked on the 'integrity' of electronic voting machines used in several countries, worked with SWIFT on the security of interbank funds transfers.[10]
