Robert Fico is a Slovak politician. As prime minister, he announced that Slovakia would be launching an investigation into the previous administration's "COVID response".[1]

Policies

Robert Fico shut a Czech "anti-corruption" unit.[2]

Fico vowed he would not allow Ukraine to become a member of NATO as long as he was prime minister. He also repeatedly accused the West of fuelling the conflict, claiming the war should be resolved through diplomacy over fighting.[3]

Color revolution target

USAID Administrator Samantha Power visited Slovakia in 2022 to meet with members of the then-ruling opposition party.[4] Power met with the organization GLOBSEC during her time in Slovakia[5], a US government-backed organization dedicated to furthering US and NATO interests in the country.

George Soros funds a number of other organizations that operate in the country[6], including the Slovak branches of the Open Society Foundation[7] and the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX).

Assassination Attempt

Just over a month before the May assassination attempt on Fico, The Guardian published a hit piece blaming him for being "out of sync with the liberal west."[8]

On May 15 2024, Fico was shot down after a barrage of bullets fired by one assailant in the Slovakian town of Handlová, his assailant arrested on the spot.[9]

Fico survived another assassination attempt on October 6, 2024. In an interview, he said there was an armed person in the crowd at an event in Dukla, Poland, who wanted to attack him.[10]
