Erich Becker is an Austrian businessman.
Career
He worked for Simmering-Graz-Pauker-AG from 1967 until 1989, 1989-91 board member of M + A Holding AG, 1991-92 of Austrian Industries Technologies AG, 1993 of Austrian Industries AG and 1994-99 of ÖIAG. [1]
1999-2004, he was general director of VA Technologie AG.[2] VA Technologie AG, an industrial group that emerged from the state-owned Austrian Industries AG through restructuring in 1993, which was floated on the stock exchange in 1994 and the majority privatized. The state participation was only 24% in 1997, 19.05% belonged to VOEST-ALPINE STAHL AG and 56.95% others. The most important business areas of the group include metallurgy technology (including the construction of complete steelworks), energy and environmental technology (including the construction of power plants) and plant engineering.[3]
In 2004, he turned his back on business, where he sat on 20 boards. After that, he started dedicating his time exclusively to social and cultural purposes.[4]
