Sheila Birnbaum was made 'special mediator' of legal claims by families who did not initially accept payments from the 9-11/Compensation fund established under Kenneth Feinberg.
The September 11th Victim Compensation Website reports that Birnbaum mediated "a settlement of $500 million for 92 families of victims of the September 11th terrorist attack on the World Trade Center".[1]
