Toulouse is the prefecture of the French department of Haute-Garonne and of the larger region of Occitanie. It is the fourth-largest commune in France, with 479,553 inhabitants within its municipal boundaries (as of January 2017), after Paris, Marseille and Lyon, ahead of Nice; it has a population of 1,360,829 within its wider metropolitan area (also as of January 2017).

Toulouse is the centre of the European aerospace industry, with the headquarters of Airbus (formerly EADS), the SPOT satellite system, ATR and the Aerospace Valley. It also hosts the European headquarters of Intel and the CNES's Toulouse Space Centre (CST), the largest space centre in Europe.[1] Thales Alenia Space, ATR, SAFRAN, Liebherr-Aerospace and Airbus Defence and Space also have a significant presence in Toulouse.

Deep state

The Toulouse chemical factory explosion was a massive disaster in France ten days after 9-11.

Several deep state operatives have been mayors, with very piquant activities. Philippe Douste-Blazy got arrested and evicted in Marocco for renting underage prostitutes - an affair that did not damage his career. Dominique Baudis might have been part of a Toulouse sex ring of high officials connected to a serial killer. His father, Pierre Baudis, also Mayor of Toulouse, was an associate of Antoine Pinay of the deep state Le Cercle - a group that does not shy away from sexual blackmail.

Location

The city is on the banks of the River Garonne, 150 km from the Mediterranean Sea, 230 km from the Atlantic Ocean and 680 km from Paris.

The air route between Toulouse and the Parisian airports is the busiest in France, transporting 3.2 million passengers in 2019.[2] According to the rankings of L'Express and Challenges, Toulouse is the most dynamic French city.[3][4][5]
