A prominent Austrian civil engineer who, since 1992, has been victimised for preparing and privately circulating a report which concluded that the Official Narrative of alleged extermination gas chambers in World War II is not technically possible. |
Walter Lüftl is an Austrian civil engineer who was President of the Federal Chamber of Engineers from 1990 to 1992.
Publications
In 1991 he wrote the “Lüftl Report”, in which he denied the technical feasibility of mass killing with poison gas in the NSDAP concentration camp of world war II. The report was circulated privately to a number of professional colleagues including a government minister but not made public. It was leaked to Simon Wiesenthal who was outraged and began a press campaign to have Lüft prosecuted and stripped of his professional status. This resulted in his forced resignation from the presidency of the Federal Chamber of Engineers in March 1992. A prosecution was also begun but withdrawn by the Vienna Public Prosecutor's Office on the grounds that: "...only personal, subjective doubts, but no propaganda intent were the reason for Luefl's letter and he could not be clearly assigned to the extreme right-wing scene." [1]
Award
In December 2009 Luftl was awarded a "Golden Engineering Diploma" by the Vienna University of Technology. After complaints by the Simon Wiesenthal Centre and the award was summarily withdrawn in January 2010. [1]
