Sergei Kovalev is Russian human rights activist, politician and a former Soviet dissident and political prisoner.
Activities
He formed the Kovalyov commission, an independent group to investigate the Russian apartment bombings. This was ineffective due to the assassination of Sergei Yushenkov.[1][2] Moreover, journalist Otto Lacis died in a car crash, and another member, Yuri Shchekochikhin, allegedly poisoned with thallium,[3][4] and its legal counsel and investigator, Mikhail Trepashkin, arrested.[5][6]
