Background

Liddell's mother died when he was a child.

Career

In the 1930's Guy Liddell became the UK's leading expert on subversive Bolshevik activities in Britain. In 1935 he recruited Dick Wright as his private secretary and MI5's thirtieth officer.[1]

Liddell was blamed for not telling US President Franklin D. Roosevelt about the impending attack on Pearl Harbor.
