Chester Yang is a London-based filmmaker and Director at CY Film Productions.

A British citizen, Chester Yang grew up in Sierra Leone, West Africa, and came to England in 1996 where he continued his schooling and graduated at the National Film and Television School.[1]

  • "Let Children be Children", a 27-minute outreach documentary that was officially selected for the BFM International Film Festival 2004
  • "Charm in the Drain", 12-minute drama that was officially selected for the BFM International Film Festival London 2005
  • "Dreamers Dream", 57-minute drama that was officially selected for the BFM International Film Festival London 2008
  • "War Matters", feature documentary that was officially selected and nominated for the Al Jazeera International Documentary Film Festival 2013. "War Matters" is a 50-minute documentary following the struggle of Brian Haw and the other protesters who occupied Parliament Square in London for over 10 years in protest against the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. The film questions what power the people have to influence their politicians, and details Brian's battle with the government as it introduces new laws to evict him and his mistreatment by the police through to his ultimate death. Screened at the East End Film Festival 2013, Thessaloniki Film Market 2013 and Medi Med film Market in 2014.[2]
  • "The Great Schools Robbery", 1 hr 30 min documentary 2023. "The Great Schools Robbery" sheds light on the truth of a recent move in education which allows state-owned schools to become privately-owned academies which continue to receive funding from the central government while operating outside community control.[3]
