The United States presidential election, 2016 is scheduled for Tuesday, 8 November 2016.[1]
For the Democratic Party, leading contenders are former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (New York) and US Senator Bernie Sanders (Vermont).
US Senator Ted Cruz (Texas), Governor John Kasich (Ohio) and billionaire businessman Donald Trump (New York) are competing to be the Republican Party's nominee.[2]
