Willem Christiaan Engel is a Dutch activist who founded Viruswaanzin (Virus Madness), and leads it under its new name Viruswaarheid (Virus Truth). The organization protests against the Dutch corona measures and says the risks of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Netherlands have been exaggerated and the measures against the spread of the coronavirus impinge on fundamental rights.
Arrest
In March 2022, Engel was arrested for incitement after Norbert Dikkeboom arranged a campaign against him and nearly 23.000 people pressed charges of inciting violence, spreading medical misinformation, fraud, making statements with terrorist intent, and threats.[1]
