J. V. Thygesen was a Danish civil servant and banker. His jobs included Director of Privatbanken 1954-74.[1] At the time of his retirement from Privatbanken he was the leader of the Danish Export Council. He was listed as a guest of the 1975 Bilderberg.[2]

Career

After graduating in law in 1932 he became secretary in the Danish Banking Authority, and inspector 1935. He was assigned to the Danish Stock Exchange Authority 1937-39.

He became assistant secretary in the Ministry of Trade in 1939, then expedition secretary in 1943, and Head of Office in 1945, before finally becoming Head of Department in 1948.[3]

He became director of of the bank Privatbanken in 1954, a job he had until 1974.

Family?

"Professor Niels Thygesen" is listed as heading the Danish Economic Society 1974-1979. It is unknown whether he was related to J. V. Thygesen.[4]
