The Peace Research Institute Oslo is based in Oslo, Norway. Founded by the legendary Johan Galtung in 1959, it has changed drastically over the years, from a think tank developing remarkably innovative peace solutions, to, at least since year 2000, an institute theorizing on "just wars" to "open up for democracy" , thus creating a "democratic peace" that would ensure peace in the future (since "democracies don't go to war against each other').
NUPI
The Norwegian Institute of International Affairs is a Norwegian research institution based in Oslo. It was established by the Norwegian Parliament in 1959. A very special and close alliance exists between NUPI, the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment and the powerful military intelligence service.
Fritt Ord
Fritt Ord is a Norwegian private foundation, whose stated aim is to support freedom of expression and a free press. It was established on 7 June 1974 by Director and stay behind member) Jens Henrik Nordlie and his subordinate Finn Skedsmo as well as the lawyer and deep politician Jens Christian Hauge.
NGOs
In 2003, professor Terje Tvedt wrote:
The close-knit cooperation between the state, NGOs and research institutes is described as "The Norwegian Model". In 2003 several thousands are employed by the state, in roughly 150 charities, in research institutes and universities tied to Norwegian policies towards in Africa, Asia and Latin-America. Every year this system gets 15 billion kroner to spend. In 2003, Norwegian charities received three billion kroner from the ministry of foreign affairs for their work. They do charity and aid work in over 100 countries and are involved in close to 10 000 projects.[1]
The 2009 parliamentary strategy report also contains a programmatic chapter on so-called NGOs:
While we used to separate between charitable organizations and political organizations, such as Amnesty International and the Norwegian Campaign against Nuclear Weapons, the vast majority of volunteer organizations are now political actors and agents of influence in addition to being operational charity organizations. The money that is collected is spent in tight-knit cooperation with media and international media personalities to maximize media exposure and political influence. At the same time cooperation with government and business grows ever tighter and happens more and more. The globalization, and its coinciding media and communication revolution, have led to a substantial increase in the ability of these actors to network and politically influence across borders and actors.[2]
Norwegian People's Aid
Norwegian People's Aid is a Norwegian NGO connected to the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions. Used for deep state purposes.
Norwegian Polar Institute
The Norwegian Polar Institute is Norway's central governmental institution for scientific research, mapping and environmental monitoring in the Arctic and the Antarctic.[3] It was used as a front for CIA activites.[4]
University of Tromsø
In 2018, the Centre for Peace Studies at the University of Tromsø received a subsidy from NATO to research "hybrid warfare".[5]
Norwegian Space Agency
The Norwegian Space Agency (NOSA) is a Norwegian government agency that follows Norway's public space activities. On 18 August 1962, the first rocket was launched from the Andøya Space Center in Vesterålen, Norway; this facility has been in regular use as a launch site for space-bound vehicles ever since. The real purpose of the location was to research telemetry for US nuclear missiles from [[submarines] hiding in the next-door fjords.[6][7]
NAMMO
Nammo, short for Nordic Ammunition Company, is a Norwegian-Finnish aerospace and defence group specialized in production of ammunition, rocket engines and space applications.

Norwegian Helsinki Committee
In June 2024, Glenn Diesen described the Norwegian Helsinki Committee as "financed by the US government and CIA-cutout the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). They regularly publish hit pieces about me and rarely miss their weekly tweets that label me a propagandist for Russia. It is always name-calling and smearing, rather than anything that can be considered coherent argument. The standard formula for cancellation is to shame my university for allowing academic freedom, with the implicit offer of redemption by terminating my employment as a professor.[8]
