DescriptionIllegal sale of artillery guns to Iraq and Iran

The Noricum scandal or the Noricum affair is the collective term for illegal arms shipments of the Austrian VÖEST subsidiary Noricum, which were later investigated by the judiciary and a parliamentary committee of inquiry in the early 1980s. The recipients of the GHN-45 artillery guns were the two warring parties of the First Gulf War, the states of Iraq and Iran.[1]
