Turkmenistan has minimal oil reserves, but has the 4th largest gas reserves of any nation state, about 9% of total global reserves.[1]
COVID-19
The Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov declared the country free of COVID-19 but imposed mandatory wearing of facemasks after receiving a visit from the WHO.[2]
By July 14, 2021, Turkmenistan was one of only 3 nation states in the world (the others being the Vatican City and Tajikistan) to mandate COVID-19 vaccination for all adults.[3]
