Gerhard Roiss is an Austrian oil and gas executive with the company OMV.
Career
In 1990 he took over the management of OMV Marketing. In the same year he was appointed to the board of directors of PCD Polymers GmbH.
In 1997 he moved job to the Executive Board of the OMV Group, an Austrian multinational integrated oil and gas company, where he was responsible for the plastics and chemicals sectors. In 2000 he also took on responsibility for exploration and production. Roiss also had responsibilities in the Balkans.[1]
From January 1, 2002 to March 31, 2011, he was Deputy Chairman of the Management Board and responsible for Refining & Marketing. On April 1, 2011 he became CEO of OMV, succeeding Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer.
OMV is the Russian gas giant Gazprom's main business partner in Austria[2], a delivery partnership under US pressure. OMV
