Career
In the 1930's Guy Liddell became the UK's leading expert on subversive Bolshevik activities in Britain. In 1935 he recruited Dick Wright as his private secretary and MI5's thirtieth officer.[1]
Liddell was blamed for not telling US President Franklin D. Roosevelt about the impending attack on Pearl Harbor.
Deputy Director General of MI5
Liddell became Deputy Director General of MI5 in 1946. He left MI5 on (or maybe a few days before) 15 May, 1953.[2] 10 volumes of his diaries are declassified.[citation needed]
Later activities
He was Head of security at the Atomic Energy Authority.
