A soldier is a person who is a member of an army. A soldier can be conscripted or mercenary, a non-commissioned officer, or an officer. Because the occupation involves power, subterfuge (war ruses), hierarchical and unquestioning lines of command, access to weapons and often a special militarist mentality, many soldiers are at the very center of deep state activities.
