The Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products (Swissmedic) is the national drug regulator of Switzerland. It gave express approval tp the COVID-19 vaccines in December 2020.
Big Pharma conflict of interest
Its Human Medicines Expert Committee (HMEC) made a decisive contribution to Swissmedic's approval of the Pfizer gene injection.[1] Numerous members of the Committee (HMEC) has worked for pharmaceutical companies. Three members have even received grants from Pfizer.
Stephan Krähenbühl has been the chairman of the expert group since 2002. He is currently a research group leader at the University Hospital Basel. He has received grants from the pharmaceutical industry for research projects amounting to 1.5 million francs since 2000, including from AstraZeneca, Braun, Novartis, Roche, RCC and Lonza.
