Denis Voronenkov was a Russian politician who was a vocal critic of Vladimir Putin.
Assassination
Voronenkov was shot dead in Kiev, reportedly by an Ukrainian, Pavel Parshov. Ukrainian police believe that it had been a contract killing while the country's president, Petro Poroshenko, alleged that it had been orchestrated by the Russian government.
