Leader of the youth wing of the Norwegian Labour Party. |
The Workers' Youth League (AUF) is Norway's largest political youth organization and is affiliated with the Norwegian Labour Party.
The position of leader of the AUF is definitely a stepping post to higher positions. Three prime ministers, Trygve Bratteli, Thorbjørn Jagland, and Jens Stoltenberg have been leaders in AUF, others have been ministers or leading figures.
One leader, Ola Teigen had to resign after being fingered for taking money for the organization from the Central Intelligence Agency, via the International Union of Socialist Youth.
