US Ambassador to Kosovo. Mostly deep state operatives with close ties to the intelligence services. |
This is a list of ambassadors of the United States to Kosovo, a state recognized by the United States and NATO but not by many other countries, including Serbia, which it declared independence from. The country is to a large degree dependent on foreign administrators, and is home to Camp Bondsteel, and enormous US base.
The ambassador is the head of the Embassy of the United States in Pristina. Given the sensitivity of the area, the Ambassador is often a deep state operative with close ties to the intelligence services.
The formal title for ambassadors is Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. Heads of the US Office that existed prior to US recognition of Kosovo's independence and the opening of the US Embassy in 2008 were titled Chief of Mission and were often of Ambassadorial rank. The ambassador to Kosovo must be confirmed by the Senate.
