Description | After "The Storming of the Reichstag" in 2020, another - fictional - attempt to overthrow the German government in 2022. |
"The German coup d'état plot", also known as "The Storming of the Reichstag 2022", was an alleged (and most likely fictional) attempt at a coup d'état by a Reichbürger group in Germany which was allegedly prevented by large police effort in December 2022.[1][2]
The alleged coup plan served as a government pretext to suppress all other dissent, at a time of a collapsing economy and the disbanding of civil liberties since Covid as part of The Great Reset. The corporate media FAZ commented: "Hate for politicians, hate speech against the Bundestag, politics and the 'system' will have to be seen in a different light from today.. It can be assumed that anyone who talks like this, whether in the Bundestag, at the network's pub table or on the street, means business."[3]

Official narrative
On 7 December 2022, more than 3000 police officers participated in raids arresting 25 members of a group of so-called Reichbürger for allegedly planning a coup d'état in Germany.[4] A group called "Patriotic Union" (German: Patriotische Union) or "The Council" (German: Der Rat) aimed to reestablish a monarchist government in Germany in the tradition of the German Reich. The group allegedly wanted to provoke chaos and a civil war in Germany in order for it to take power.[5]
The raids were the biggest "anti-terror" operation in modern German history.[6] The arrested persons had an high average age, with the corporate newspapers speaking of Elisabeth R., age 75, as the "terror grandma with the potato sack".[7] Other "members" included a handful of pensioned officers from both the West- and former East-German armies.
The security forces seized almost a hundred firearms, including a vintage-looking Kalashnikov, from one of the "members".[8] This includes 10 unregistered firearms.[9] They also confiscated 420.000 euros and 50 kilos of gold and other valuable metals.[10]
Heinrich Reuss
One of the arrested leaders is one Heinrich XIII Prince Reuß, descendant to The House of Reuss, which dates it's line back to the 12th century. His partner Vitalia B., a Russian citizen who was also arrested, is suspected of having established contact with the Embassy of the Russian Federation on his behalf.[11] A Wikipedia article in German was created for on the 7th December 2022; already the following day Wikipedia had versions of his article in eight other languages (Arabic, English, Spanish, Hebrew, Norwegian, Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese).[12]
Concerns
Martina Renner, member of the Die Linke (German political party), interviewed for N-TV, commented the same day:[13]
I myself already knew about it since the middle of last week, and I also know about several media outlets that had already been aware of it for two weeks. The names of the defendants were known, their address and the planned time of access. [...] The info was spread so widely that it seems like a PR move.

Independent journalist Uri Gellerman commented, comparing it to the situation in civil rights demonstrations against Covid in 2020 and an attempted false flag attack:
But since the Reichsbürger are costumed in the grotesque clothes of the long-gone Reich, since some of them collect and sometimes use weapons, they are useful as boogeymen. When the civil rights movement was approaching a climax in August 2020, the Berlin Senator for the Interior authorized the Reichbürger to hold a permanent rally on the stairs of the Reichstag. That was the same senator who happily had his police smash the actions of the democratic rights activists and whose judiciary did not approve of the rallies of the civil rights movement as a matter of principle. Of course, the majority media sold the state-sanctioned action as a "storming of the Reichstag."
Those familiar with what the structure of the state looks like, were and are certain: The Reichsbürger action in front of the Reichstag was registered and carried out by provocateurs from the Office for the Protection of the Constitution in order to defame the cross-political movement. There are - of course - allegedly "cross-political thinkers" among the newest coup plotters. Because even if the civil rights movement is currently weakening, it is still the only alternative against a state that damaged democracy with the Corona regime and involved Germany in a dangerous war with its submission to NATO. Such alternatives must be discredited and thrown into the Reichsbürger pot so that they do not become contagious..
Before a wish becomes real rebellion, the instruments of repression must be popularized as necessary measures. The supposed Reichsbürger coup serves this purpose. It gives people like the Federal Minister of the Interior, Nancy Faeser, the opportunity to come with sentences such as: "The investigations allow us to look into the abyss of a terrorist threat from the Reichsbürger milieu" and further "We know how to defend ourselves with all severity against the enemies of democracy."[14]
Comments
Politician Katharina Dröge from the Greens (originally a skeptical party) thanked the people in the security authorities on Twitter who "work every day to protect our democracy".[15]
Cavity searches
In addition to the extra long pre-trial detention, a practice was established since the beginning of the trial in 2024, which, according to the defense lawyers, puts the defendants under extreme strain: before almost every day of the trial, they would have to undress naked. They would then be scanned, and their body orifices would be cavity searched. Before the return transport from the improvised courtroom in Frankfurt to the prison, the same procedure takes place again. Although such searches are possible according to the Hessian Pre-trial Detention Act, they should only be used in individual cases and in a justified danger situation, not automatically. There must always be a specific reason for checking the cavities of the body. "In any case, it is a harassment that seems to be aimed at psychologically breaking the defendants, " said the lawyer.[16]
