Talk:Norway/Permanent Representative to the UN

Would it be better to standardize these Permanent Representatives (UN,NATO,OECD) to ambassadors, i.e. Norway/Ambassador/UN. This would remove clutter from the main page of countries. I've attempted this with Norway, slimming the subpages down to Norway/Politics, Norway/Legal System. The downside it that it creates longer and less clear titles, like Norway/Politics/Member of Parliament, and the database upgrades slower as well.

According to Wikipedia, "Permanent representatives are often informally described as ambassadors. However, although a permanent representative typically holds the diplomatic rank of an ambassador, because they are accredited to an international organisation, their official title is permanent representative." Yes, I agree. Keeping the main country page clear is a good guide. Actually Norway/Ambassadors would be a bit better, but since the sub pages are Norway/Ambassador/XXX I'm not sure whether this is doable. But anyway, yes, as the amount of information grows, we should try and rein in the automatically generated stuff somewhat. Norway is an obvious choice to try to do this, as are other countries where we have a lot of pages (such as UK and US). -- Robin (talk) 16:22, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
