Talk:1989
This article by Larry Romanoff, posted by Matthew Ehret on his website, is substantially challenging the conventional view on the '1989 Tiananmen Square protests and massacre'. Romanoff makes the point that the protests were peaceful and the students were getting along with the soldiers, there were different protests happening at the time and at one point thugs / mercenary types, that were well prepared for an attack, made their move and escalated, killing soldiers (who were scarcely armed at that point) by burning them in their vehicles. In his view this was an attempted color revolution. There currently is no '1989 Tiananmen Square protests' page here, but it challenges the perspective on Tank man and things mention there.
