Stephen Loosley was a General Secretary of the NSW Branch of the Australian Labor Party from 1983 to 1990, at a time when the state was run by the corrupt Premier Neville Wran. He was Senator from 1990 to 1995.[1]
Career
Loosley is a past chair of the think tank Australian Strategic Policy Institute, which creates propaganda stories mostly against China, where he is a Senior Fellow,. At the same time as he sat on the Board of the armaments producer Thales .[2]
Loosley was National President of the Australian Labor Party between 1991 and 1992, when he was pressured to resign amid controversy.[3]
Loosley is an "expert" on American politics and is a regular commentator on US elections in Australian media outlets.
In addition, Loosley serves as a Corporate Councillor of the Asia Society (Australia) and on the Board of the European Australian Business Council (EABC). He has also sat on the Board of Crescent Capital and on the Board of the Australian-American Leadership Dialogue.[4]
